Our Belief Statement

We believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God and accept the same as the only infallible guide and rule of our faith and practice. Scripture References: Matt. 24:35, Ps. 119:89, II Tim. 3:16-17, II Tim. 2:15, II Pet. 1:19-21.

We believe in the eternal omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, and immutable triune God, Maker of heaven and earth; and in the unity of the Godhead where three Persons, equal in every divine perfection and attribute, execute distinct, harmonious offices, in the great work of redemption. Scripture References: I John 5:7, II Cor. 13:14, Gen. 1:26, I Tim. 1:17.

GOD THE FATHER - Isa. 43:10, 44:8, John 3:16.

GOD THE SON - Co-existent and co-eternal with the Father, the Son was conceived by the Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, to take upon Himself the form of man. By becoming obedient unto death, the Son bore the curse of sin, sickness, and sorrow, and redeemed us back to God. He arose the third day and ascended unto heaven, where He sits at the right hand of God, the Father, where He ever lives to make intercession for us. Scripture References: John 1:1-3, Matt. 1:23, I Tim. 2:5, Eph. 2:18, Phil. 2:6-11.

GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT - The third Person of the Godhead, co-existent and equal with the Father. Sent by the Father, through the Son, the Holy Spirit reproves the world of sin and prepares the bride of Christ. Scripture References: John 14:26, 15:26, 16:8.

THE FALL OF MAN - Scripture References: Gen. 1:27, Rom. 3:10, 3:23, 5:12; Isa. 53:6.

THE PLAN OF REDEMPTION - We believe that Christ was the Lamb of God, foreordained from the foundation of the world. By the shedding of His blood on the cross, He provides salvation for all. Scripture References: I Pet. 1:19-20, Isa. 53:5, Titus 2:14, Heb. 7:25.

THE NEW BIRTH - We believe that because of man's total inability to save himself, salvation is by God's grace alone, through faith in Jesus Christ. Salvation is received through sincere, godly repentance, and whole-hearted acceptance of Jesus Christ as personal Savior. Through being born again, we become new creatures in Jesus Christ. Old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Scripture References: John 3:3, II Cor. 5:17, Gal. 2:20, I Pet. 2:24.

DAILY CHRISTIAN LIFE - We believe that having been cleansed by the blood of Christ and quickened by the Spirit, it is God's will that we should be sanctified daily and be made partakers of His holiness, walking not after the flesh, but after the Spirit, forsaking the very appearance of evil. Scripture Reference: Rom. 8:1, 8:5, 12:1-2; II Cor. 7:1, I Pet. 1:15, I Thess. 5:22.

MARRIAGE AND DIVORCE - Knowing that marriage was instituted by God, sanctioned by the Lord Jesus Christ, and commended by St. Paul, we believe that a Christian man or woman should not marry an unsaved person and in accordance with the Holy Scriptures we believe that marriage is exclusively between one man and one woman. Having been united by God in holy matrimony, both are bound by Scripture and must follow it carefully. Each situation is weighed by Scripture. Scripture Reference: Mal. 2:10-16, II Cor. 6:15, Matt. 19:5-9, Luke 16:18, Heb. 13:4.

WATER BAPTISM - We believe that water baptism by immersion in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost, and in Jesus' name, is commanded by God. It is subsequent to conversion and not a saving ordinance, but an outward sign of an inward work. Scripture Reference: Matt. 28:19, Rom. 6:4, Acts 2:38.

THE LORD'S SUPPER - We believe in the commemoration of the Lord's Supper as a type of the broken body and shed blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is both a sacrament showing forth the death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord. We believe that the act of communion is the saints' opportunity to embrace the finished work of the Cross and celebrate the glorified presence of our Lord. We look forward to the marriage supper of the Lamb. Scripture References: I Cor. 11:23-33, Luke 22:14-20. We believe that all Christian believers, regardless of church affiliation, may partake of the Lord's Supper. Scripture Reference: I Cor. 11:27-28, II Cor. 13:5.

BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT -We believe the baptism of the Holy Spirit is a definite experience, not identical with conversion. When the baptism of the Holy Spirit is received, unknown tongues will follow. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is given to equip the believer with power from on high; to give inspired utterance in witnessing for Christ; to lead the believer into holiness and sobriety; and to equip him for a practical, efficient, spirit-filled, soul-winning ministry and service. Inasmuch as this is the dispensation of the Holy Spirit, every believer has a right to expect His incoming to be after the same manner as recorded by the Word of God in Bible days. Scripture References: John 14:16, Acts 1:8, 2:4, 2:38-39, 19:6.

SPIRIT-FILLED LIFE - We believe that having received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, the believer should experience a continual renewing of the power from on high. The Holy Spirit is as a gentle dove, easily grieved, wounded by coldness, prayerlessness, idle conversation, worldliness, and a judging, critical spirit. It is the will of God that we walk and abide in the Spirit. Scripture References: Eph. 4:30-32, 5:18, Acts 4:31, I Cor. 3:16-17, Gal. 5:16-25, I John 2:6.

GIFTS AND FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT - We believe that for the edification of the saints and the building up of the church of Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit has the following gifts to bestow upon the individual believer: the word of wisdom, the word of knowledge, faith, gifts of healing, working of miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, diverse kinds of tongues, and the interpretation of tongues, dividing to every man severally as He will. These gifts should be coveted earnestly by all spiritual believers and exercised in the spirit of love. We believe that the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance, against such there is no law. These should be cultivated in the life of every believer. Scripture References: I Cor. 12:7-11, 31; Gal. 5:22-23, John 15:4, 8.

MODERATION - We believe that our moderation should be known to all men. The Christian should be sober, well-balanced, and seasoned with love. His zeal should be governed by godly wisdom. In accordance with the teachings of our Lord and the Apostles, we also believe that every Christian should abstain from any and all appearances of evil. Each Christian carries the responsibility of their own testimony as well as being careful to avoid being a 'stumbling block' to those who are unsaved or weak in their faith. Scripture References: Phil. 4:5; Eph. 4:14-15; I Cor. 8:9 & 13:5; Col. 3:12-13; I Thess. 5:22

DIVINE HEALING - We believe that divine healing was provided by the atonement of Christ Jesus' death. It is the power of God to heal the sick and afflicted in answer to believing prayer. We believe that God is willing to heal the sick today and does so. Scripture References: Isa. 53:4-5, Matt. 8:16-17, James 5:14-16, Acts 3:16.

SECOND COMING OF CHRIST KNOWN AS THE RAPTURE - We believe that the second coming of Christ is personal, imminent, and pre-millennial. The Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, with the trumpet call of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then the redeemed which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so shall they ever be with the Lord. We should therefore be ready, for in such an hour as we think not, the Son of Man will return. Scripture References: I Thess. 4:16-17, Titus 2:12-13, Matt. 24:36, 44, Acts 1:11.

REVELATION - We believe that the coming of Jesus Christ with His saints will end the great tribulation and establish the millennial kingdom on earth, when Christ shall rule and reign as King of kings and Lord of lords. Scripture References: Rev. 1:7, Zech. 14:4, II Thess. 1:7-10, 2:8.

CHURCH RELATIONSHIP - We believe that every born-again child of God should identify with the visible church of Jesus Christ, should labor diligently, and should contribute his temporal means toward the spreading of the Gospel here on earth. We believe that tithes (ten percent of one's income) and offerings should be given into the storehouse of the Lord, which is the local church. Scripture References: Neh. 13:10-14, Heb. 10:24-25, Ps. 111:1, Acts 2:47, 16:5, Rom. 12:5, Mal. 3:8-12, II Cor. 9:6-7, I Cor. 16:2, Matt. 23:23.

CIVIL GOVERNMENT - We believe that government is ordained of God, and all Christians should be subject to the laws of the land, except those contrary to the revealed will of God. We pledge allegiance and moral and spiritual support to the United States of America. In times of war, the individual's participation in actual combat and taking of life shall be governed by his own conscience. Scripture References: Rom. 13:1-7, Acts 5:29, Matt. 5:39-48, Heb. 12:14.

FINAL JUDGMENT - We believe in the final judgment of the wicked at the great white throne, when the dead, both small and great, shall be resurrected to stand before God to receive the reward of their deeds done in the flesh. Scripture References: Matt. 13:41-43, Rev. 20:11-15. HELL - We believe hell is a literal place of utter darkness, bitter sorrow, remorse, and woe, prepared by God for the devil and his angels. Further, the unbelieving, the abominable, the murderers, sorcerers, idolaters, liars, and those who have rejected the love of Jesus Christ, whose names are not written in the Lamb's book of life, shall be cast into a lake burning with fire and brimstone. Scripture References: Rev. 14:10-11, 20:10, 14-15, 21:7-8, Matt. 25:41, Mark 9:43-44.

HEAVEN - We believe that heaven is the habitation of the living God, where Christ has gone to prepare a place for all His children, and where they shall dwell eternally in happiness and security with Him. Scripture References: I Cor. 2:9, John 14:2, Rev. 7:15-17, 21:4, 22:5.

EVANGELISM - We believe that the coming of Jesus Christ is eminent. As His redeemed children, we should put forth our utmost efforts to spread the Gospel to every "kindred, tribe, and tongue." Because soul-winning is the chief mission of the church, every hindrance and hair-splitting doctrine which would quench or dampen the flame of world-wide evangelism should be cut off and cast away. Scripture References: II Tim. 4:1-2, Eph. 5:14-16, Prov. 11:30, John 4:35-37.

MISSIONS - We believe that the Great Commission of our Lord Jesus Christ to the entire world is literal, imperative, and binding today. It is the supreme privilege and duty of the church to stress the cause of world-wide missions. The very life and strength of the home church depends on its whole-hearted sacrifice for, and support of, a world-wide missionary program. Scripture References: Matt. 9:38, Mark 16:15, Rom. 10:13-15, James 5:20, Ps. 2:8.

MINISTRY - We believe in the five-fold ministry gifts: apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers. God speaks to His body through these "gifts" to the church. God did not ordain or establish committees, but individuals, filling one of these five-fold ministry gifts (Ephesians 4:11). Scripture References: Eph. 4:8-12.
